A clarification for episode 468
Good day footy fans.
In episode 468 of the podcast, as Myk Aussie and I were discussing the limitations placed on cricket players from Edmonton, regarding their participation in a tournament in Calgary (by the Alberta Cricket Association, ACA), I referenced an instance that took place back in early 2023. I felt that it was necessary for me to clarify my words during the podcast, and ensure that I am as accurate as I can be.
I stated that the 2nd post in the back-to-back tweets was one referencing National Women's Day (Month). It was not. It was referencing player movement in the AFLW, and how important it was to respect the decisions of players at that time, who were moving from one club to another for the advancement of their career. (Something that I wholeheartedly agree with.)
That being said, I thought, and still firmly believe, that even though it was over 3 years ago, those two tweets, back-to-back were tremendously hypocritical of one another, and I think that it was tremendously wrong of the USAFL to banish this club to the footy netherworld because they chose to improve their footy skills, but didn't bow down to the leadership of the USAFL, but did what they thought was best for themselves, and their club.

*As of this writing, both of these tweets are still available to view, so this was not me simply dredging through old tweets. I simply believe that the optics of these two tweets, in succession, were somewhat hypocritical, and it is something that I've not forgotten. I don't hold any grudges against the author, but I wanted to make sure that I clarified my statement from episode 468, as I was not entirely accurate in what I said about these comments.
